China's first and also the world's first AMR standard --- the technical specification for Remote Automatic meter reading for LV customers (DL/T698-1999) has been issued by the committee of economy and trade of PRC. It has become formally effective from 1.July 2000.
      The work of the committee started in early 1996 and lasted 4 and half years. Archnet's Technical Director, Mr. Zhao Lanpu has been a member of the committee from the very beginning until the completion of the specification.
